The actor playing Kratos in the film adaptation of ‘God of War’ has been named. The streaming service Amazon Prime Video has announced the name of the actor who will play Kratos in the upcoming adaptation of the God of War video game series. It will be Ryan Hurst. Interestingly, this is Hurst’s second role in the God of War universe: he previously voiced and became the prototype for Thor in PlayStation’s God of War: Ragnarok, for which he was nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award. God of War franchise, which includes nine main games and a number of re-releases, started back in 2005 on PlayStation 2. It tells the story of Kratos, a Spartan warrior who comes into conflict with the gods of various mythologies. The first games in the series were based on Greek mythology. In 2018, the series was rebooted and the action moved to the world of Norse mythology. Along with Kratos, a second main character appeared - his son Atreus.
