The screenwriter of “Severance” will work on the second season of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
Amazon has appointed a new showrunner for the series Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The second season will be supervised by Anna Ouyang Muench (Severance, Beef). Filming for the new episodes was supposed to begin last year, but the series was temporarily postponed. Mark Edelstein (Anora) and Sophie Thatcher (Heretic) will continue to play the lead roles. The exact release date is unknown. The first season of Mr. &Mrs. Smith, starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, was released on Prime Video in 2024. The project is based on the 2005 action film of the same name and tells the story of a pair of spies pretending to be husband and wife. Gradually, the characters begin to develop real feelings for each other.
