Marvel Studios and Ryan Reynolds have begun work on the fourth instalment of the Deadpool franchise. The decision to continue the series was expected after the unprecedented box office success of Deadpool and Wolverine, released in 2024, which grossed $1.33 billion worldwide and became the highest-grossing R-rated film in history. The film cemented Deadpool as one of the most commercially successful brands in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first two films in the series, each earning around $780 million, had already demonstrated the franchise’s strong potential, and in subsequent years the character’s popularity only grew thanks to streaming and physical releases.
