HBO head Casey Bloys has clarified the release date for the series based on Harry Potter. “I would say…. beginning of 2027. You’ll ask if that means January, February, March, April, but we’re not ready to say,” Bloys told Deadline.
The show was originally expected to air before the end of 2026. The roles of Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger will be played by Dominic McLoughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton. The cast also includes John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Nick Frost, Paapa Essiedu and others. Each season of the series will be dedicated to a different book by J.K. Rowling. The soundtrack to “Potter” will be recorded by Hans Zimmer.
