In Bangkok, Thailand, filming has begun on a prequel to the legendary action film “Rambo: First Blood,” which will tell about the early years of the life of the iconic character played by Sylvester Stallone.
The director will be Jalmari Helander, known for the tough duology “Sisu”.
“Our film will show Rambo in his purest form: raw and real, his story of survival, resilience and lost innocence. It is an honor to shape this chapter with deep respect for the character’s legacy,” Helander, who has repeatedly emphasized the influence the 1982 film had on his career choice, said in a statement.
The main role that made Sylvester Stallone a star will be played by Noah Centineo (Street Fighter). Along with him, the ensemble cast will include Yao, Jason J. Tobin, Quincy Isaiah, Jefferson White and Thaime Thapthimthon. The script was co-authored by Sohrab Noshirvani and Rory Hines, who worked on the story of “Black Adam”. The Russo Brothers and their production company AGBO will produce, with Lionsgate serving as distributor.
