Scream 7 to Become First Franchise Entry Released in IMAX

Paramount has unveiled a new trailer for the long-awaited horror film “Scream 7.” In it, a new killer in the Ghostface mask once again confronts the franchise’s iconic “final girl” Sidney Prescott, with the threat extending to her loved ones, including her daughter Tatum.

The studio also announced that this installment will be the first in the series’ history to receive an IMAX theatrical release.

Neve Campbell returns to the role of Sidney, alongside Courtney Cox as reporter Gale Weathers. In the trailer, Gale tells Sidney she is ready to “rip the mask off this bastard.” Kevin Williamson, who wrote the original “Scream” as well as parts two and four, is directing the seventh film.

Campbell appeared as Sidney in every film of the series except “Scream 6” (2023), from which she withdrew due to a pay dispute.
