The lead actors in Disney’s film “Rapunzel” have been announced.

The game version of Disney’s animated film “Tangled” has found its lead actors. Australian actress Tegan Croft, known for the series Titans, and star of the Zombie franchise Milo Manheim will play Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in the feature film. The characters in the 2010 Disney animated film were voiced and sung by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. As for the villain Mother Gothel, a role previously offered to Scarlett Johansson, it remains vacant for now.

After the box office failure of Snow White in early 2025, Disney temporarily froze work on Rapunzel, but by the fall of that year, it had actively resumed preparations, and in December, it announced the start of casting.

The new film will be directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman), who will be working from a draft script by Jennifer Kaitlin Robinson. Plot details are being kept under wraps. Christine Barre will produce, and Lucy Kitada will serve as executive producer.

The original animated film Tangled, directed by Byron Howard and Nathan Greno and inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, became a cultural phenomenon: it grossed over $590 million, and the song “I See the Light” was nominated for an Oscar. The music for the animated film was written by the legendary Alan Menken to lyrics by Glenn Slater, but it is not yet known whether they will be involved in the new version.
